Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who is popularly known as “Sam” is the queen of adorable expressions and quirky performance. She was born in 1989 to the Malayali and Telugu Parents. She was brought up in Chennai and Sam finished her schooling at St.Stephens Matriculation School, Pallavaram and Holy Angels Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, Chennai. Samantha graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Stella Maris College, Chennai. Samantha started her career debuting 2010 Telugu romantic movie “Ye Maaya Chesave” which was directed by Gautham Menon. She won Film fare Award for Best Female Debut – South and Nandi Award in the year 2012 with her performance in the movie “Ye Maaya Chesave”. Samantha was the second Tamil actress after Revathi to win both Film fare Award for Best Tamil Actress and Film fare Award for Best Telugu Actress in the year 2013, for her movies “Neethaane En Ponvasantham” and “Eega”. For her movie “Attarintiki Daredi” she received the “SIIMA Award for Best Actress” in the year 2014.

She chose to begin the non-governmental organization after being bed-ridden for 15 days during her documented illness in 2012 and wanted to give back to society. Samantha subsequently started the Prathyusha Support foundation to provide medical support for women and children with the help of three doctor friends and provided the entire financial support for the program. She always stands first and ready to help for the children and the people who are in need!
In January, Samantha got engaged to her longtime sweetheart Naga Chaitanya, at a star-studded private ceremony in Hyderabad. The famous onscreen couple is expected to tie the knot later this year.
